House Captains

Our house captains are Year 6 children voted for by their fellow peers in school. All children are given a house when they begin their journey at Chapel St Leonards Primary School. We have four houses:

– Sandilands
– Donna Nook
– Gibraltar Point
– Anderby Creek

During the voting process, the Year 6 children prepare a speech to present to the school persuading them to vote for them to be their house captain. Once the voting is complete, the house captain is selected and presented with a badge and a very important role.

As a house captain, the children need to ensure they are following and modelling our school rules and values to the other children in the school. These children are responsible for collecting and counting the house points weekly and in the achievement, assembly adding the house points to the running total each term. The house captains also lead sporting inter-house tournaments, support younger children at lunch times and support children across the school with peer reading sessions.

A house captain at Chapel St Leonards Primary School upholds the school values and behaviours being role models to the rest of the school.
